Since 1987, Solon High School Model United Nations has been pushing students to become more globally minded and diplomatic in demeanor. Through weekly meetings, conferences, and community events, we have established ourselves as one of Solon’s most influential student organizations.
Prior to conferences each student assumes the position of a country, is assigned a committee within the UN, and receives topic areas to debate. After extensive research, students work together to reach resolutions on the world’s most pressing issues. At conferences hosted by the Cleveland Council of World Affairs (CCWA), resolutions passed by students are sent to the office of The United States Ambassador to the UN, Nikki Haley. This year our team is scheduled to travel to Johns Hopkins to compete at its international Model UN conference.
